Concept illustration cover design submission for Neuron. The visual represents the cerebellum metaphorically as an alternative world where the purkinje cells form train tracks for the Sir1 engine to drive the locomotive using NAD++ as fuel while dragging Ca++ payload. These were key players highlighted in the research of Dr. Albert R La Spada.
Below shows the progression of the graphic. The original idea and sketch came from the client. I continued realizing the vision to a layout sketch and finalized the design and illustration digitally.
