Paleo illustrations and infographic showing the unexpected origin of fingers from fish fins to limbs. All thanks to a fossil of a 375-million-year-old fish, we now know that the digits in our hands evolved before vertebrates left the water to colonize the land. These fish may be doing push-ups in the river to get some fresh air:).

For these illustrations, I applied the traditional watercolor technique to Adobe Illustrator, utilizing the overlays of transparent organic vector shapes to build dimension in a subtle way. Below shows the progression of the illustration compiling various fossil imageries and illustrations provided by experts.
